THE GENERAL MEETING
TO APPROVE THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS 2001

A large room in the Horse Riding Club hosted the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar Society for the presentation and approval of the financial accounts. The Accountant, Mr. La Calamita reported on the economic management of the Society in the previous year. After the presentation the meeting moved on to the vote. All those present gave their approval except for three people, who abstained. These members, who had arrived a bit late, didn¹t have time to read the copies of the report on the accounts (few in actual fact!). The President reminded the meeting of the numerous initiatives promoted by the Committee and Collaborators.

Among these, of considerable importance, is the acquisition, restoration, installation and inauguration, open to everyone, of prestigious offices. The cultural initiative in schools, the promotion carried out towards ³Junior² members, the 1st and 2nd level courses, the collaboration in the promotion of research at university level and, last, but not least, the staging of the Palio, have represented the most dynamic and satisfactory events of 2001.

And after the duty Š.. the pleasure! The aperitif with delicate appetizers introduced the dinner and the greetings between the guests. The chatter at the table was a way of moving the subject cheerfully onto everyone¹s favourite subject: Balsamic Vinegar. This could be counted on with the presence of the Tasters, Standard Bearers, Councillors, and Collaborators who dedicate so much time and passion to the Society. And so, the time finally came to go home, but there was no hurry.

A wonderful evening, therefore, cheered by the memory of the proud and satisfied face of one of the youngest members, that of Corrado Giovanni Lapo, who, with his charming 11 years of age, sitting besides his grandfather at the President¹s table, talked very seriously about his battery which had just been set up.
