GENERAL MEETING TO APPROVE THE FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR 2000

The General Meeting of the Members of the Traditional Reggiano Balsamic Vinegar Society was held at the Capriolo Restaurant in Reggio Emilia.
The Chairman of the meeting, Committee Member Luciano Bagnacani, opened the proceedings by offering the first word to the accountant Dr. Lacalamita and the official Treasurer Mrs. Marcella Maramotti, who then presented the Financial Accounts for the year 2000, giving clarifications and explanations where necessary. The Financial Accounts were approved by all the members present with one single abstention.
The Society’s Chairman, Dr. Ugo Rangone, informed the assembly of the numerous activities carried out to promote awareness and the culture of Traditional Reggiano Balsamic Vinegar, first of all speaking about the Palio. A special "thank-you" goes to the outgoing Committee member Giulio Bagnacani regarding the organization of this event, for his profound commitment and proven professionalism. The reorganization of the "Standard Bearers" throughout the territory, assigned to Committee Member Tiziano Davoli, has produced good results: the large number of Participants at the event is a clear demonstration of this fact. 1st level Courses for "acetaia" operators are currently taking place in various localities in the province and a 2nd level course is being planned to coincide with the "Balsamic Days" in the autumn. The planned activities (one of the most important of which is the setting up of the site and various activities in schools to get young people involved) are many and are possible thanks to the Sponsors who we would like here to take the opportunity to mention and thank: CREDEM, POPOLARE VR — BANCO SAN GEMIANO AND SAN PROSPERO, CERAMICA LEA, LITOKOL, FONDAZIONE MANODORI… and last but not least, THE MUNICIPALITY of CASALGRANDE which has provided a slice of history, the Castle tower, as the location for the event. Moreover, the general meeting was informed that the new Committee member, Giulio Cesare Ghirri, is making good progress in the restoration of the area made available for us.
